Participant reflections

What people have shared with us

These are written in participants' own words, collected after sessions held between May and June 2025.

SP

Siriporn P.

Thonglor, Bangkok — Family Communication Workshop

"I wasn't sure what to expect — my husband and I had been going in circles on the same issues for months. The workshop didn't solve any of those things, but it genuinely helped me understand why my way of bringing things up was making things harder. The exercises were a bit uncomfortable at first, but that was probably the point."

Kamon W.

Lat Phrao, Bangkok — Co-Coordination Skills Programme

"My daughter's father and I are not together anymore, but we share care of her every week. The scheduling side of things was becoming a source of constant friction. The five-session programme gave us some actual tools to work with — a shared template we now both use and a way of phrasing requests that doesn't immediately put the other person on the defensive."

Nattawut R.

Huai Khwang, Bangkok — Information Session

"I came to the information session on my own. I was trying to understand how to approach a conversation with my parents about some long-standing family matters. I found it quite useful to understand the general structure of how these conversations can be organised — it helped me feel less like I was going in blind. I would have liked a bit more time for the Q&A portion, but overall it was worth it."

Anchisa T.

Sukhumvit, Bangkok — Family Communication Workshop

"My mother and I came together. She was a bit sceptical, but by the end of the morning she was the one suggesting we try the exercise at home with my sister as well. The facilitator was very calm and never made either of us feel like we were being judged for how we communicate now. That made it easier to actually engage."

Petchara S.

Din Daeng, Bangkok — Co-Coordination Skills Programme

"I went through the whole five-session programme. Sessions 3 and 4 were the most useful for me — particularly the part about how to raise a change to an existing plan without it turning into a negotiation about everything else. My main feedback is that session 1 could be condensed a bit. But the templates we received have genuinely been part of how we plan things now."

Wilaiporn C.

Bangkapi, Bangkok — Information Session

"I found Kinbridge after looking for something that was informational rather than counselling. The session was exactly what was described — process and communication skills, no personal advice. The preparation worksheet was particularly good. I left feeling more prepared than I arrived, which was what I needed."

Participant journeys

Some of what participants have worked through

These case summaries are based on anonymised participant feedback and describe the kinds of starting points people bring to Kinbridge sessions.

Starting point

A couple managing ongoing household friction

Two long-term partners in a shared household found that routine decisions — about finances, family visits, time allocation — were consistently becoming arguments. Both felt unheard, and the pattern had persisted for over a year.

Session attended

Family Communication Workshop

The couple attended the half-day workshop together. They worked through active listening exercises and practised a structured approach to expressing needs without framing each request as a criticism.

What shifted

One tool, applied consistently

Both participants described using a single exercise from the workshop — a before-you-speak reflection — consistently over the following weeks. Neither described dramatic change, but both noted fewer escalations in the same conversations.

"It sounds small, but taking five seconds before responding genuinely made a difference to how the conversation went." — Participant

Starting point

A parent navigating shared custody schedules

A parent sharing weekly care of two children with an ex-partner found that last-minute changes and differing assumptions about plans were creating stress for everyone. Email exchanges had become tense and children were aware of the tension.

Programme enrolled in

Co-Coordination Skills Programme

The participant completed all five sessions over five weeks. They shared the planning templates with their co-parent at week two, and both began using the shared scheduling framework discussed in session three.

Outcome described

A shared system in place

The participant described a marked reduction in disputed changes over the subsequent month. The scheduling template was still in active use at three months. They noted that the ex-partner had not attended sessions but had been receptive to the tools being introduced.

"Having a consistent place to put plans — and a way to propose changes that doesn't come across as a complaint — helped more than I thought it would." — Participant

Starting point

An adult child preparing for a difficult family conversation

An adult participant wanted to address a long-standing family matter with their parents but had avoided doing so for years due to uncertainty about how to approach the conversation without it becoming hostile or collapsing before anything was said.

Session attended

Mediation-Support Information Session

The participant attended alone and worked through the preparation worksheet during the session. They found the overview of how structured conversations are typically structured useful as a mental framework for what to expect and how to pace themselves.

What changed

Preparation reduced avoidance

The participant described the session as having reduced their sense of the unknown enough to make the conversation feel more approachable. They completed the worksheet over several evenings after the session and eventually had the conversation with their parents.

"I didn't need to be told what to say. I needed to stop feeling like I had no idea what I was walking into." — Participant
